Ukraine Should Maintain Economic Impact on Crimea – Dmitry Firtash
Having lost political influence on the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Ukraine should use all available resources in order to keep the economic impact on the peninsula. This was stated by the President of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Dmitry Firtash during the FEU Board meeting.
"Firstly, we need to keep Crimea as a market. Secondly, we should not lose production links between enterprises of the mainland and the peninsula. Thirdly, Ukrainian businessmen operating in Crimea have to keep markets in Ukraine, the European Union, U.S. in order to avoid being forced to sell their business to Russians", said Dmitry Firtash referring to the 80 heads of territorial and sectoral associations of enterprises from all over Ukraine.
Dmitry Firtash noted that the Federation of Employers of Ukraine was taking an active part in the drafting of legislation that would remove the problems in the organization of economic relations between Ukrainian enterprises in Crimea and mainland parts of Ukraine. Among the most pressing issues are the introduction of the international trade regime that would result in double taxation, and the inability to confirm the Crimean origin of goods that actually blocks exports to the EU countries.
"It is necessary to finalize the bills and provide the most favorable conditions for the Ukrainian companies in Crimea, as far as possible in the current situation," said Dmitry Firtash.
