Nika-Tera To Continue Supporting Mykolayiv in 2014
In 2013, Nika Tera Specialized Seaport, being part of OSTCHEM, fully completed its obligations under the social partnership contract with Mykolayiv City Authorities and Regional State Administration. This was stated by Oleksandr Gaidu, Chairman of Nika Tera.In 2013, under the program ‘Preserve Your City” initiated by the Chairman of Group DF Dmitry Firtash, Nika-Tera Seaport allocated UAH 3 million as a charity support to the city.
In 2013, the enterprise traditionally furnished a financial assistance to the health, educational, sports establishments, supported children with special needs, veterans, needy and large families. Also the sea terminal allocated UAH 1 million for Mykolayiv social infrastructure improvement and UAH 300 thousand for socially important projects in Mykolayiv region.
In particular, in 2013, the enterprise supported medical institutions of Mykolayiv, such as the No.7 Primary Health Care Center, Zhovtnevy District Center for Primary Health Care, Zhovtneva Central District Hospital, Mykolayiv City Children's Hospital, and Mykolayiv Regional Organization of Red Cross.
Nika-Tera Specialized Seaport also sponsored Mykolayiv sport teams. Thus, the enterprise supported students of the No.5 School which took part in the Kickboxing World Cup and European competitions. Besides this, the seaport supported Mykolayiv sportsmen at the Ukrainian Cup of the World Powerlifting Alliance. Also the seaport allocated funds for development of two Mykolayiv football teams – “Mykolayiv” and “Bogoyavlensk”. The enterprise constructed a new futsal ground and equipped a special classroom for Mykolayiv specialized boarding school No.2.
Under the Group DF corporate social responsibility program Nika-Tera also assisted Mykolayiv Higher Shipbuilding College. In alma mater of Mykolayiv shipwrights the seaport repaired the academic building’s roofing and installed plastic steel windows. Also Nika-Tera sponsored the roof replacement in the No. 3 Mykolayiv Gymnasium and bought equipment necessary for educational process.
During 2013, the terminal supported Mykolayiv veterans, disabled citizens and needy families. Nika-Tera purchased papers subscriptions, household appliances and organized festivals.
Oleksandr Gaidu, Chairman of Nika Tera, assured that in 2014 the enterprise would continue supporting the city in the fields that had been supported earlier – healthcare, education, sport and city improvements.
“We share the position of the Group DF owner Dmitry Firtash, who supports programs aimed at infrastructure development in the cities where Group’s enterprises are operating. We want to create a comfortable environment for the life of the citizens, and to make Mykolayiv more attractive city”, said Oleksandr Gaidu.
In 2014, the enterprise will continue to actively participate in the development and improvement of Mykolayiv. So, until February 15, 2014 anyone can take part in the competition for the best design of the square in the Korabelnyy district by sending an application.
