New Training Base For FC Tavriya To Be Built In Crimea
Visiting the training base of FC Tavriya in Simferopol Mr. Dmitry Firtash announced his intention to build a new base for the team. Joining Mr. Firtash in this visit were a newly appointed Honorary President of the club Anatoly Moguilev, the club founder Yuriy Borisov and its General Director Sergey Kunitsyn.“A brand-new modern sport base meeting the highest European standards will be built at the site of the existing base. The players will be able to train here all year long enjoying excellent conditions,” commented Mr. Firtash. “The precise investment budget is not finalized yet but apparently the construction will require not less than 10 million US dollars,” he projected.
Mr. Firtash explained that he is a shareholder in two large enterprises in Crimea providing systemic support to sport. These companies finance, in particular, the football club Titan (city of Armiansk), the volleyball club Krymsoda (Krasnoperekopsk) and Simferopol-based FC Tavriya.
“I think that Tavriya is a team of the entire Crimea and I appreciate it how important it is for the people living here,” noted Mr. Firtash.
The Head of the Board of Directors of Group DF explained that as the team’s sponsor caring about Tavriya’s future he suggested to the club founder that the post of its Honorary President be offered to Mr. Moguilev.
Anatoly Moguilev serving as the Prime Minister of Crimea stated that he perceives the position of Tavriya’s Honorary President as an honor and privilege. “Tavriya is a flag of the whole peninsula that will be waving proudly,” said Mr. Moguilev. “I am happy that we are having serious support from Mr. Firtash and I am hopeful that the team will keep pleasing us with its performance,” added Honorary President.
