Ukraine Needs To Change Rules Of Doing Business

In Ukraine it is necessary to change the rules of doing business. This was stated by President of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Dmitry Firtash during the meeting with managers and owners of more than 100 companies and the leadership of the Kirovograd region.

“We do not accept the rules of doing business. The existing rules are beneficial to those who operate profitably in “grey” economy. I can not accept these rules, because I have to pay salaries to people, I have to develop the business. There is no doubt that we have to change the rules of the game,” – said Presidents of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine.

Dmitry Firtash said FEU had been working to simplify doing business in Ukraine. Among the first steps is a reduction of the number and powers of the regulatory agencies. For this purpose the National Register of Regulatory Agencies was compiled.

“I want every employer to know who and how many times can check him, with what authority, who can stop production. It is necessary to restore order in this sphere,” – said President of FEU. Mr. Firtash noted that the question of agencies’ powers ordering would be discussed with the government of Ukraine.

The Federation of Employers of Ukraine has compiled the National Register of Regulatory Agencies, in which there are 70 state bodies. In 2012, they made 2.1 million checks. 44 bodies have the right to stop the operation of enterprises. In the past year, these control structures suspended or restricted the work of 154 thousand enterprises. According to FEU experts, last year business interruption caused about UAH 27 billion profit shortfall.

Work on the National Registry of Regulatory Agencies began in September 2012. The Registry is available at reestr.fru.org.ua.
