Dmitriy Firtash Is One Of Ukraine’s Leading Benefactors

«KONTRAKTY» magazine has rated Mr. Dmitry Firtash among the top three patrons and benefactors of Ukraine.

According to the magazine’s estimate, Mr. Firtash’s charity budget totals 70.8 million UAH and funds both one-off charity actions and long-term systemic programs implemented in research and education areas. Two years ago, owing to Mr. Firtash’s financial support, the Ukrainian Studies Program was launched at the University of Cambridge aiming at improving Ukraine’s international image. The Program made it possible for University students to learn the Ukrainian language and literature, cinematography, culture and history. The Program has become an ongoing event due to the Ukrainian Studies Foundation budgeted with 59 million UAH. In addition to that, by contributing 1.92 million UAH, Mr. Firtash has financed the institution of Ukrainian Studentships Program for Ukrainian students learning at Cambridge. In 2011, from 5 to 10 young people from Ukraine will take a one-year course at the University seeking the Master’s degree in one of the 50 available specialties.

As a one-off charity action, Mr. Firatsh donated 10 million UAH to flood survivors in Chernivtsi region last year.
